chiarentana is a fortified farm building dating back to the 12th century and was used to house troops guarding the junction of three important roads in Tuscany. Although it lies within the estate of the infamous 'La Foce' it lacks the sophistication and neo - classical formality of the gardens of La Foce. However it is surrounded by an extensive garden. I was asked to return the garden to it's former glory after years of neglect.

In just one season we were able to restore the basic structure of the garden and install a vast ecologica wild flower meadow which enabled the owners to save some of the 3 million litres of water used to irrigate the lawns every season.
